The Barnhill Center Advisory Board serves as the guiding force behind venue preservation, shaping The Barnhill Center strategic planning efforts, and programming of The Barnhill Center, ensuring it remains a treasured landmark for generations to come.
The Board shall consist of nine (9) voting members, appointed by the City Council. Members should be appointed, to the extent possible, based on their experience with the following categories: arts or historic preservation, fundraising or donor relations, marketing, communications, or PR, event planning or programming, and education or community outreach. Board members shall have a known and demonstrated interest in historic preservation, event programming, fundraising, or other disciplines important to the purpose and scope of the Board.
Board members shall serve staggered terms of three (3) years and may serve up to three (3) full consecutive terms, with a required one (1) year absence before reappointment consideration. A quorum shall consist of at least five (5) members. The Chair and Vice-Chair shall be elected by and from the Board members and shall serve as said officers for a term of one (1) year.
