Boards & Committees

Become a Board/Committee Member

The most effective way for citizens to become involved directly in governmental programs is to serve on a citizen board or committee. Citizen boards are not legislative bodies; the extent of their authority is contingent upon city ordinances and/or state statutes.

Board Appointment Applications

If you are interested in becoming a board member, applications will be available in October 2024.

Applications submitted will be reviewed by a Council Subcommittee and appointments will be made by City Council in December. All new terms officially begin, on January 1, 2025.

Community members on Brenham's boards and committees provide an invaluable service by assisting the City Council and City Staff with developing recommendations on important policy matters. Participation on a City advisory body is an excellent way to get involved in the community and your local government. It is an interesting and challenging experience that can truly make a difference.

Boards and Committees

The following boards are appointed by the Mayor and City Council to assist them in their decision-making process. Agenda meeting notices for each board or committee are posted on their individual page.
