Brenham Animal Services Spay/Neuter Assistance Program (SNAP)
Brenham Animal Services is partnering with Animal Friends of Washington County to provide low cost spays and neuters for City of Brenham pets. Benefits of spay/neuter means bettering the animal’s health, behavior, and quality of life. This program is funded by the City of Brenham. Guidelines are set in place to ensure pet parents understand the program before applying.
What you need to know:
- You must live within the City of Brenham. To verify you live inside the city limits, you can utilize this map: City of Brenham Map
- The animal must be spayed/neutered at ANIMAL FRIENDS at 3901 TX-36. You must drop off/pick up your animal at that location at the designated date/time.
- The animal must be at least 4 months and a minimum weight of 4 lbs.
- The animal must be younger than 10 years old and a maximum weight of 100 lbs.
- You must be willing to get your pet microchipped and weighed when you come in to complete the application (this will be offered at no charge).
- You must pay Animal Friends the $25 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit to request an appointment.
If you meet the above guidelines, please come to the shelter during open hours to apply.
If your application is approved, this means you agree to the following:
- The voucher can only be used for owner and animal listed.
- The voucher will ONLY reimburse an age-appropriate rabies vaccine (if needed) and the spay/neuter package (spay/neuter, e-collar & post operative pain medication).
- All costs above the value of the voucher will be the owner’s responsibility. Additionally, if your pet does not meet the criteria for surgery, the owner will be responsible for the cost of tests, treatment, or other services rendered.
- Brenham Animal Services and Animal Friends are not responsible for negative outcomes, including contraction of disease and death.
Other notes:
- Vouchers are LIMITED. Vouchers will be distributed based on animal species/gender and if stipulations are met.
- A household may reapply once every 6 months. This includes people that miss their initial spay/neuter appointment.
