Brenham, TX

The City of Brenham announced today that Brazos Paving Inc. will begin construction activities on September 13, 2021, on Old Chappell Hill Rd from FM 577 to the Citizens Collection Station (2009 Old Chappell Hill Rd). This project includes the reconstruction of approximately 1,400-linear ft. of existing curbed asphalt roadway to a 40-ft. wide curbed concrete roadway. Construction consists of approximately 840-linear ft. of storm sewer of various sizes and the addition of curb inlets, allowing for better drainage.

During construction the road will remain open, so the city asks citizens who travel this roadway to respect the work zones and construction zone speed limits. With the Wastewater Treatment Plant and Citizens Collection Station located within the construction area, it should be noted that the roadway will be shared with large loads for continued operation.

The widening project is expected to be completed in mid-January with TXDOT starting the intersection work at FM 577 and Old Chappell Hill Rd at that time.
