Council to Meet Next Week to Appoint Interim City Manager

The City of Brenham City Council voted Thursday, September 16, 2021, to terminate the contract of City Manager, James Fisher. The contract was to expire in January 2022 but the termination was effective immediately. The city council met in executive session for three hours and ultimately voted to terminate the contract. Mayor Milton Tate stated, "This decision was not taken lightly nor did it come easily." He continued, "We thank Mr. Fisher for his service and hope nothing but good things for him in the future."

The council is planning now to meet next week to appoint an interim city manager.
