The City of Brenham is seeking a dynamic visionary leader for its next Fire Chief. Candidates for this position will be a valuable member of the City's Leadership Team and the community as Brenham continues to grow. Candidates must be able to lead with integrity; empower firefighters (paid and volunteer) to exceed expectations; communicate clearly, effectively and intentionally; be fiscally responsible while being solution oriented; develop strong, positive, and productive relationships with public safety agencies, emergency medical services and local volunteer fire departments; and establish a defined personnel training, promotion, and accountability system. The Fire Chief will lead by example and with a servant's heart for others.

This position will remain open until filled. The first review of applications and resumes will be on June 7, 2021. Selected applicants will undergo a drug screen, driving record review according to the City’s driving policy, extensive background check, including a criminal history, psychological testing, and a panel interview. The pay range for this position is $105,000 - $125,000 (depending on experience). Interviews will begin in mid-June with selection of a finalist in mid-July.
