City of Brenham General Election to Be Held May 3, 2025
The City of Brenham announced today, Wednesday, January 15, 2025, that a General Election will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, to elect one Councilmember for Ward 1, one Councilmember for Ward 3, one Councilmember for Place 5-At Large, and one Councilmember for Place 6 – At Large.
Citizens interested in running for City of Brenham City Council can pick up a Candidate Packet in person from the City Secretary’s Office during regular business hours, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday at City Hall, 200W. Vulcan Street, Suite 204. Candidate packets can also be downloaded from the city’s website at www.cityofbrenham.org/elections.
The filing period for all candidate documents begins at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, and ends at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 14, 2025. Candidate documents can be filed with the City Secretary’s Office in any of the following ways:
- Filing in Person:
During regular business hours, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday - Friday, at City Hall, 200 W. Vulcan Street, Suite 204. The Application for a Place on the Ballot for a General Election for a City, School District, or Other Political Subdivision can be notarized before filing in person or notarized by the City Secretary or Deputy City Secretary upon filing.
- Filing by Regular Mail:
Must be received by the City Secretary (the date of postmark is immaterial) before the filing deadline of 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 14, 2025. The Application for a Place on the Ballot for a General Election for a City, School District or Other Political Subdivision must be notarized before mailing.
- Filing by Fax to (979) 337-7568
Must be received by the filing deadline of 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 14, 2025. The Application for a Place on the Ballot for a General Election for a City, School District or Other Political Subdivision must be notarized before filing via fax.
- Filing by Email:
Must be e-mailed to candidate2025@cityofbrenham.org. E-mails received before 8:00 a.m. on January 15, 2025, or after 5:00 p.m. on February 14, 2025, will not be accepted. The Application for a Place on the Ballot for a General Election for a City, School District or Other Political Subdivision must be notarized before filing via e-mail.

The City of Brenham, City Secretary’s office announced today, Wednesday, January 15, 2025, that Clint Kolby filed his Application for a Place on the Ballot, for the position of Councilmember Place 5 – At Large, for the General Election to be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025.
