Brenham Police and Lee County Sheriff's Office - operation leads to discovery of significant quantities of drugs and firearms
On Thursday, July 17, 2025, the Brenham Police Department’s Crime Reduction Unit (CRU), in collaboration with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office and the Lee County Constable’s Office Precinct #2, executed an arrest and search warrant at a business located in the 300 block of E. Austin Street in Giddings, Texas.
Juan Macedo, of Smithville, was taken into custody by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office on an outstanding warrant for Manufacture or Delivery of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group 1. During the search, officers also located a firearm in the suspect’s vehicle.
Simultaneously, a residential search warrant was executed at Macedo’s residence in Smithville by the Bastrop County Sheriff’s Office. That operation led to the discovery of significant quantities of methamphetamine, cocaine, cash, and 5 additional firearms.
These enforcement actions are the result of a year-long investigation initiated by the Brenham Police Department’s CRU. Investigators determined that the Giddings business was being used as a distribution hub to supply narcotics to other drug distributors in Brenham and the surrounding areas.
Recognizing the multi-jurisdictional scope of the case, Brenham PD coordinated efforts with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, leading to the development and execution of a comprehensive and unified investigative strategy.
The Brenham Police Department extends its sincere appreciation to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, the Lee County Constable’s Office Precinct #2, the Bastrop County Sheriff’s Office, and the Lee County Attorney’s Office for their invaluable support throughout this investigation and its successful execution.
This case remains under investigation. No further information is being released at this time.
