"Brenham Crossing will be the first retail project of its kind in Washington County, including a number of best-in-class, major retail and restaurant brands," said Kenneth Katz, Development Principal at Baker Katz. "Today was an exciting milestone opportunity to showcase the project's progress to the public, a vision that would not be possible without the outstanding amount of support from the City of Brenham, Washington County and our local and national partners on the project."

The event featured remarks from Brenham Mayor Milton Tate, Brenham City Manager James Fisher, Baker Katz Development Principal Kenneth Katz, and Washington County Judge John Durrenberger.

"The City of Brenham is very excited about this new retail project, Brenham Crossing, and our partnership with Baker Katz," said Mayor Tate. "This new shopping experience will strengthen our economic base and be a catalyst for future economic growth, not only here in Brenham, but all over Washington County."

Brenham Crossing is a 50-acre project, initially featuring 163,518 square feet of retail space. Five retailers have signed leases, including Hobby Lobby, Marshalls, Five Below, Burke's, and Petsmart. The project was developed by Houston-based Baker Katz, the project's financing was brokered by Jeff Stein at Dallas-based CBRE Group, Inc. The project is slated to open next year.
