Debris Update 5/30/2024 - 8:49 am

We are still working daily with 3 crews and will be 75% complete by end of today (Thursday, May 30). We will continue daily until we reach the southern city limits. We ask citizens to remain patient as there is a lot of brush on the curbs. We plan to wrap up no later than Wednesday of next week.

After that, if a resident is missed we will take calls at 979-337-7428. Again, if citizens do not want to wait on crews debris can be taken to the Citizens Collection Station at 2009 Old Chappell Hill Rd for the applicable fee, as this facility is operated by a 3rd party.

The below map shows where we have been and what we remains, after today.

Debris Update 5/24/2024 - 10:36 am

We are still coming your way! The City of Brenham Street Dept is working diligently to service each neighborhood and pick up brush and yard waste from the storm. We have had crews working since Wednesday. By Saturday evening, we will have the majority of the north side (up to Main St.) of Brenham complete. Collection will continue next week, after the Memorial Day holiday so there is no need to call City Hall.

If you prefer not to wait, you can take debris to the Citizens Collection Station at 2009 Old Chappell Hill Rd (closed on Memorial Day). There will be a fee due to this facility being operated by a third party. Another update will be provided at the end of next week.

There is a tremendous amount of debris so we appreciate your patience.

Debris Update 5/21/2024 - 8:05 am

Vegetation Debris Pick Up - Wednesday May 22

City crews will begin vegetation debris pick up Wednesday, May 22 through Friday 24, 2024. Be sure to place debris out by Wednesday morning at 8 am to be sure your debris will be picked up by Friday afternoon as crews work their way through neighborhoods.

  • All limbs, tree trunks, and branches should be cut up in 6-ft lengths or less
  • Place vegetation debris on next to the curb
  • No need to call for pick up. City crews will service every street and neighborhood.
  • No bagged items, please just place vegetation debris, as these will be picked up with a grapple and taken to be mulched.

The Collection Station is open if you prefer to cut and haul your own debris. Applicable collection station fees apply.

Outage Update 5/17/2024 - 4:40 pm

Over the past 24 hours, the City of Brenham had 349 customers without power (beginning at 5:18 pm). By midnight, all the customers were back in service except for 75. These remaining customers were back in service by 11 am this morning.

A BIG thank you to ALL the city departments for leaving your own homes to care for our residents. You are greatly appreciated!

Outage Update 5/17/2024 - 8:06 am

City crews continue to work to restore services to customers. We anticipate most customers should be reconnected to power by 10 am this morning.

Posted 5/16/2024 - 8:22 pm

The City is experiencing many power outages, power lines down, and tree debris on the roadways. Crews are aware and working to get power restored. Some areas may be out for up to 8 hours. Street crews are taking advantage of the remaining daylight hours to clean up the roadways.

Please remember to be cautious when out driving and stay away from downed power lines.

We will update soon on the progress of the power outages.

If you need to report an downed powerline, tree, or outage, please call 979-337-7400.
